- OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB
Sales of all Company products to life science outlets in the Territory - CANDIDATE PROFILE
The job demands knowledge and experience in a relevant scientific discipline together with good interpersonal skills. The job holder will possess at least a Life Sciences first degree qualification, be familiar with the work of research or other laboratories and will be adaptable to change with the ability to absorb new information rapidly and accurately.
Sales experience, preferably in the Territory, directly related to one or more of our core technologies is essential.
Areas of knowledge/expertise should be from the following: Immunology; Cell Biology/Imaging/Microscopy; Molecular Biology or other related subjects. - SCOPE AND NATURE OF THE JOB
The job holder will use his/her skill and experience to effectively sell products to the scientific community, provide support for customers and engage in promotional activities. In consultation with the Operations Director the job holder will agree objectives and devise operational plans to meet them.
The job holder is expected to be a highly self-motivated and experienced sales person, must conduct themselves in a thoroughly professional manner and be able to demonstrate effective communication, both orally and in writing and to gain the respect of colleagues and customers at the highest levels.
He/she must maintain sound knowledge of the products, markets and applications and to use this expertise to maintain and develop business and ensure customer confidence. - SUMMARY OF PRINCIPAL DUTIES
Actively sell products and support the Company’s customers in the Territory.
Provide Reports as required.
Maintain awareness of competitive activities and together with the responsible Manager, develop tactics to compete effectively.
Ensure a prompt response to enquiries and timely follow up of initial contact.
Ensure support activities are focused to maximise effective use of time/costs.
Identify new markets and application areas and report relevant details to management.
Develop access to the Life Science market through contact with funding bodies, research/ biotech directories, key publications and other secondary channels.
Support and develop activities for the Territory through product demonstrations, seminars, customer visits, exhibitions, workshops etc.
Maintain up to date records and develop a comprehensive data base of contacts and prospects.
Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility of the post that may be required by Management from time to time.
